An Interesting Apple News Day – Now We Don’t, Now we do!

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Early this morning, around 6:30 am, I read the posts collected on my RSS reader, Feedly. There were at least two articles from major Apple news blogs stating that there would not be an Apple event next week as many expected. The articles expressed disappointment.

A few hours later, I visited the MacSparky website to copy a website address and saw MacSparky’s post indicating that an Apple Event was in fact scheduled for next Tuesday at 10:00 am. It had been announced by invitations sent to the press this morning. The event was named Peek Performance.

Apparently, some of the biggie news blogs jumped the gun with their assertions that there would be no event next week. It’s likely they assumed if there was going to be an event, it would have been announced on Monday or Tuesday.

Since Apple doesn’t make product announcements in advance, no one knows for sure what will be announced at this event. Many of the pundits are speculating it might be an updated mac laptop or an updated iPad. Some believe a new Apple Silicon PowerMac might be in the works. Not many expect to see a larger silicon iMac anytime soon.

I really wish Apple would announce a new larger iMac at this event. The smaller iMacs came out last spring. It’s been about a year and a half since the two-year transition was announced, so we’re running out of time if Apple is to meet its timeline.

Many of the people I know and read have been waiting for the larger iMac. Wouldn’t it be a nice surprise if Apple outsmarted all the rumor experts and announced one next week? Lots of us will be ready to throw our money at Apple if they do!
