The Apple Discount Most Veterans Don’t Know About

Reading Time: 3 minutes

With Apple announcing new products on Wednesday, I figured this was the perfect time to resurface something many veterans and military families don’t realize: Apple offers a 10% discount to current and Veteran members of the US Military, the National Guard, and the Reserve.

This covers all branches — Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, plus the U.S. Public Health Service and NOAA Corps. Immediate family members who reside in the same household are also eligible.

This discount applies to all merchandise, including pre-orders (except for Vision Pro).

Getting to the Military Store

To get to the Military Store, open the Veterans and Military Purchase Program web page. I recommend you bookmark this address for easy access later.

Apple uses a third-party military verification service used by Lowe’s and dozens of other retailers. To access Apple military discounts, you will need a verified ID.me account.

Click on the “Verify with ID.me” button on the Apple military page. This brings you to a screen that lets you either enter your email and password for your ID.me account or create a new one.

Already Verified? Here’s Your Fast Track

If you already have an ID.me account, enter your email and password.

At the next screen, click on the “Allow” button so ID.me can share your verified identity with Apple. That’s it. You’re in.

After you click on “Allow,” you are transferred to the Apple Veterans and Military Purchase Program website, where you can order Apple products at a 10% discount.

New to ID.me? Here’s the Setup Walkthrough

If you don’t already have an ID.me account, instead of entering your username and password, click on “Create an ID.me account.” This takes you to a screen where you can enter your email, set a password, confirm it, and agree to the site terms.

The site will walk you through selecting an option to verify your status and entering your full name, date of birth, branch of service, and rank. Once you’ve filled in all the requested information, the site will let you know whether you’re verified.

Once verified, head back to Apple’s military page, click ‘Verify with ID.me,’ and log in.

ID.me Works With Many Other Retailers

One more thing worth knowing: You will also be able to use this same account to verify veterans’ discounts with retailers that use ID.me, such as Lowe’s Home Improvement.

A full list of participating retailers is available on the ID.me website.

Links to product pages on Amazon include a referral code, which pays me a small percentage of the sale when products are purchased. This helps to defray some of the costs of running this site. I strive to only include links to products I believe are worth buying.
