I had a typical blog post ready to publish this morning, but when I prepared to publish it, I thought, “No one’s going to read your post today. Christmas Eve is tomorrow night. People are already traveling to be with family and friends, and they are much too busy and involved in life to read a blog post.”
Besides, the post was on an important topic that I’ve spent a lot of time on–New Year’s resolutions and how to make changes that stick (unlike New Year’s resolutions). Timing-wise, it would be better to appear next week, which is the week of New Year’s.
So instead of a blog post, I’m going to offer you my heartfelt wish for a wonderful and enjoyable holiday week.
We’re going to be celebrating the holiday at home here in Rapid City, South Dakota. Our tradition is to bake chocolate chip cookies on Christmas Eve, drink full-bodied high-calorie eggnog, and watch “A Muppet Christmas Carol.” Sometimes we open one present on Christmas Eve, sometimes we wait until the next morning.
On Christmas morning, I bake cinnamon rolls for breakfast. When we’re ready, we take our time opening presents.
Whatever your holiday traditions are, I hope you have a great time!
